Privacy Notice

This notice applies to the complimentary reader-copy programme and the optional Reader Letter operated through The Reader Circle. The contact point for privacy matters is liangyufeng.guides@gmail.com. The legal identity and registered address of the responsible publisher must be supplied before this service is opened to the general public.
Who is responsible
The publisher operating The Reader Circle is responsible for the personal data described below. Until the complete legal identity and registered contact address are published in the Legal Notice, the request service should remain restricted and must not be promoted publicly.
What we collect
When you request a complimentary reader copy, we collect your first name, email address, selected marketplace, preferred language, selected book, and any optional note you provide. If you separately join the Reader Letter, we collect your email address, optional first name, selected market, assigned language segment, consent record, and subscription status.
Technical and security data
To prevent automated abuse, we temporarily process limited technical information such as network address and browser information. These values are converted into a one-way security fingerprint; the raw network address is not stored in the request record.
Why we use it
Reader-copy information is used only to assess availability, respond, deliver an eligible copy, prevent abuse, and preserve the programme acknowledgements. Reader Letter information is used only to route occasional publishing emails to the French-language audience for France and Canada or the English-language audience for the United States and United Kingdom.
Legal basis
Request administration is based on the steps you ask us to take in considering and, when available, supplying a complimentary copy. Reader Letter emails are based on your separate, explicit consent. Security and abuse prevention rely on the operator’s legitimate interest in protecting the service. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Retention
Active reader-copy requests are kept while assessed or fulfilled; completed or declined requests should ordinarily be deleted or anonymised within 12 months. Reader Letter subscription records remain active until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion; a minimal suppression record may be retained to respect an opt-out. Security-event records are retained for up to 30 days. Administrative audit records are kept for accountability.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal information. Data is hosted by the technical providers used to operate this website. Operational reader-request notifications sent through Resend exclude the reader’s name, email address, and message. If Reader Letter delivery is enabled, Resend, operated by Plus Five Five, Inc., receives the consenting subscriber’s email address, optional first name, and audience segment to deliver emails and manage unsubscribes. Resend may process data in the United States under its applicable data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. We do not send request details or review activity to Amazon.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Every Reader Letter includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email liangyufeng.guides@gmail.com and state “Privacy Request”. Identity may be reasonably verified before a request is fulfilled. You also have the right to contact your competent data-protection authority.
International readers
Our readers may be located in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Canada, or elsewhere. Appropriate safeguards are used where data is processed across borders, as required by applicable law.
Cookies and advertising
This site currently uses only essential technical storage for security, restricted-area authentication, and remembering cookie preferences. Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising, and profiling technologies are inactive. Optional categories are blocked by default and may be enabled only after an active choice. Read the Cookie Policy or reopen “Cookie preferences” from the footer at any time.
Children
The reader-copy request programme is intended for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect request data from children.
Independent from Amazon
We do not collect your Amazon credentials, profile, order history, review link, screenshot, star rating, or proof of review. Amazon receives information only when you independently visit its website.
